Charlotte Ipsan, Senior Vice President & Chief Hospital Officer at Norton Women’s & Children’s Hospital/Louisville, Kentucky has over 36 years’ experience in healthcare, beginning as a nurse in the neonatal ICU at Norton Children’s Hospital and exiting the clinical bedside as a neonatal nurse practitioner in 2009.
Ipsan led the opening of Kentucky’s first pediatric outpatient surgical, emergency room, and diagnostic facility in 2010. Since May 2012, she has served as the senior executive for Norton Women’s & Children’s Hospital, a full-service, 373-bed community hospital for men, women, and children. Charlotte led the completion of a $151 million reconfiguration in 2014 to add a transformational model of comprehensive women’s healthcare, addressing pelvic floor health, breast health, bone health, and headache treatment, along with expanded pediatric services.
Charlotte has served as the American Hospital Association (AHA) representative to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Committee on Hospital Care for the 2012 – 2014 term and as the 2018 Chair of the American Hospital Association’s Section for Maternal and Child Health Council.
Ipsan and her husband Robin, enjoy spending time with their four children and are active in supporting their southern Indiana and local communities. Ipsan and her husband own Planet Dance in New Albany that desires to support the growth and success of children by enhancing physical activity and teamwork.
