Outdoor Adventure Center
Access to outdoor recreation is a fundamental right. Throughout Origin Park's planning work, the Conservancy has aimed to design a venue where the excitement and benefits of outdoor recreation and adventure could be delivered to our community in a big, accessible way. The Outdoor Adventure Center is this space. This rendering gives a visual impression of what this attraction can deliver to our region and state. S20 Design, the globe’s leading whitewater engineers, has designed a self-contained outdoor adventure venue suitable for Olympic qualifying events, international competitions, first responder training, and general recreational fun for families, businesses, and tourists. Climbing walls, bouldering, zip lines, walking paths, event space, and full food and beverage services on site create a destination venue. Similar successful parks of this scale and size are located in suburbs of Charlotte (North Carolina), Auckland (New Zealand), Sydney (Australia), and London (Great Britain).
This is a big leap for the region. It will advance our tourism and health performance metrics, complementing the growing system of national event venues across our region. Much more to come on this initiative in the coming months.
